Frequently asked questions
Which citation styles are supported?
APA 7th edition, MLA 9th edition, Chicago author-date (17th edition), and Harvard (Cite Them Right). All four use the official CSL style definitions, the same ones used by Zotero and Mendeley.
How do I enter author names?
Write each author as Family name, Given name — for example "Almutairi, Sara". Separate multiple authors with a semicolon: "Smith, John; Lee, Ana".
Is the in-text citation included?
Yes. You get both the full bibliography entry and the matching in-text (parenthetical) citation for the style you chose.
Is my source data uploaded anywhere?
No. Citations are generated entirely in your browser — what you type never leaves your device.
Why does my citation say (n.d.)?
That means "no date". If you leave the year blank, styles like APA insert n.d. automatically — add the publication year to replace it.
